An old story says, you can't kill a frog by dropping him into a boiling water..
a frog reacts so quickly to sudden heat that he'd jump out before he is hurt but if you put him in a cold water and then gradually warm it, he never decides to jump til its too late....

Men....
when you suddenly show you like them they get to dump you abruptly
but if you treat them cold at first and make things hard for them
they will be attached and never know they are already into YOU....
